"Oman Airports" Supports Small and Medium Enterprises in Opening Their Commercial Outlets at Muscat International Airport

Muscat - "Oman Airports":

"Oman Airports" has signed two agreements to operate commercial activities for small and medium enterprises at Muscat International Airport, as part of its support to enhance the in-country value by opening its outlets within Muscat International Airport to support and provide opportunities for small and medium enterprises to showcase their products and services to travelers and airport visitors.

The agreements were signed by Sheikh Aiman bin Ahmed Al-Hosni, CEO of "Oman Airports," and on behalf of small enterprises by Amer Al-Shaibani, owner of "Arzan Al-Raedah Establishment," and Ahmed Al-Maamari, owner of "Ghusn Feresiya for Perfumes Establishment."

These agreements come within the efforts of "Oman Airports" and its initiatives to provide opportunities for small and medium enterprises to offer their services at airports, which serve as Oman's gateway to the world and a vital hub for visitors, whether departing or arriving.

"Oman Airports" aims to enhance the presence of small and medium enterprises within the airport and to open various commercial outlets, emphasizing its role in enriching the airport environment, which constitutes significant support for its presence in an essential station like Muscat International Airport.

"Oman Airports" operates within its strategic plans to achieve the pillars of Oman Vision 2040, aiming to enhance the role of small and medium enterprises in economic diversification, raise their contributions to the local economy, and empower youth to build and manage their institutions to become effective in achieving sustainable development.

Muscat International Airport provides an attractive environment for institutions and companies, as an international transit station that attracts more than 19 million passengers annually, creating successful opportunities for companies and institutions. The government attaches great importance to enabling the private sector and placing it on the path of leading economic growth and job creation through continuous improvement of the business environment, supporting its competitiveness and ability to attract quality investments. Efforts and initiatives from various stakeholders in the business industry aim to enhance investment opportunities and attract new local and foreign investments, focusing on maximizing the role of small and medium enterprises in economic growth and enhancing their share of government projects through packages of facilities, incentives, and exemptions.

In 2023, Oman Airports has allocated direct and indirect business opportunities, with a total value estimated at nearly 4 Million Omani Rials, towards small and medium enterprises. Additionally, amounts were disbursed for services from local companies within the Sultanate with a total value estimated at 20 million Omani Rials, including new and existing service contracts.

"Oman Airports" provides many opportunities within the airport environment for small and medium enterprises, both in terms of prioritizing their services to visitors and travelers, as well as to employees through organizing various exhibitions within the Oman Airports premises on multiple occasions to create new job opportunities for small and medium enterprises.
