HEART SAVER, FIRST AID, CPR AND AED

About the course:

This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs to learn how to respond in the first few minutes until emergency responders reach. Participants learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies. This course also teaches adult, child and infant CPR and AED use.

OBJECTIVES:

  • List the priorities, roles, and responsibilities of first aid rescuers
  • Find the problem
  • Describe the assessment and first aid actions for the following life-threatening conditions: heart attack, difficulty breathing, choking, severe bleeding, shock, and stroke
  • Recognize when someone needs CPR
  • Perform high-quality CPR for adult, child and infant
  • Demonstrate how to use an AED on an adult, child and infant
  • Describe the key steps in first aid
  • Use an epinephrine pen
  • Control bleeding and bandaging
  • Recognize the legal questions that apply to first aid rescuers

COURSE LICENSE:


Upon the completion of the program, participants will be awarded with a first aider license awarded by the American Heart Association and valid for period of 2 years.
