Oman Airports, Sultanate of Oman: Oman Airports participation in the 2024 ITB Berlin convention from 5 – 7 March forms a highlight for the Sultanate of Oman, as the country proudly stands as an official partner and guest of this prestigious international tourism industry event.
The Sultanate’s participation at the 2024 ITB Berlin was led by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, as well as the attendance of more than 70 Omani organizations. This reflected the cooperation of the Ministry and the private sector to present an integrated image of the Omani tourism ecosystem and its many attractive opportunities.
In a statement distributed by Oman Airports, the company’s CEO, Sheikh Ayman bin Ahmed Al Hosni, explained that the participation in this global event – which brings together more than 180 countries – comes as part of a strategic plan of solidarity with national efforts to promote Oman's enormous tourism potential as a preferred destination in the region, that benefits from many unique factors such as a rich and authentic culture, beautiful natural regions, and advanced infrastructure.
The CEO added that the team in the Commercial Operations Unit at Oman Airports is continuing its efforts to attract new airlines and operate new direct destinations during 2024, in close cooperation with strategic partners, to enhance tourism activity and facilitate access to Oman.
These efforts come at an ideal time, as Oman's tourism sector continues to grow, setting a record of 4 million visitors in 2023. This progress reflects the increasing positive impact of air traffic and promotional initiatives undertaken by the Ministry in collaboration with all partners, including Oman Airports, to promote Oman as a leading global tourism destination.
