CEO of Oman Airports discusses strengthening cooperation with a number of officials in the Kingdom of Bahrain

Aimen bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Hosni, CEO of “Oman Airports” and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Airports Council International (ACI), held a series of meetings with a number of officials in the Kingdom of Bahrain, during which they discussed prospects for cooperation with the ACI and Oman Airports. The meetings also aimed at enhancing joint work to serve the airports sector in both the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Bahrain. Al Hosni met yesterday with Her Excellency Fatima Jaafar Al Sarafi, Minister of Tourism in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and His Excellency Zayed Rashid Al Zayani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Airport Company.

 During the meetings, they discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the ACI and the 
Kingdom of Bahrain on one hand, and Oman Airports on the other. Al Hosni will also meet with His Excellency Mohammed bin Thamer Al Kaabi, Bahraini Minister of Transportation, and His Excellency Hussein Ahmed Al Shuail, Undersecretary for Civil Aviation Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in the same context. 
Al Hosni stressed the importance of deepening relations and bonds of cooperation to achieve common goals, whether between “Oman Airports” and the ACI on one hand, and the Kingdom of Bahrain on the other. These meetings come on the sidelines of the meeting of the Board of Directors of the ACI, which is holding its periodic meeting in the Kingdom of Bahrain, chaired by Aimen Al Hosni, on the 3rd and 4th of March, with the participation of a number of decision-makers and CEOs of international airports. 


During the bilateral meetings, opportunities for exchanging ideas and experiences were discussed, mechanisms for enhancing efficiency in airports and the aviation sector, development of environmental and economic sustainability projects, as well as addressing challenges affecting the airports and civil aviation sector. 

Al Hosni highlighted the strong relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Bahrain, in light of the keenness of the leaderships of the two countries to strengthen and grow them at all levels, especially in the aviation, tourism, and joint investments sectors. On the 3rd and 4th of March, the Kingdom of Bahrain will host the meetings of the Board of Directors of the ACI, in the presence of a large number of decision- makers, including CEOs of the most important international airports. 
Over the two days, the meeting, hosted by the Bahrain Airport Company, will discuss several vital topics in the aviation sector and strengthen cooperation frameworks between airports, international aviation organizations, and strategic partners from all over the world. It will also constitute a global platform for the exchange of international knowledge and expertise. 


It is worth mentioning that the ACI is concerned with developing proposals for policies and programs that represent the common interests of members, form the direction of work, support the development of the aviation sector and airports globally, contribute to promoting professional excellence in airport management and operation, works closely with the most prominent aviation sector organizations such as the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in order to develop recommended standards, policies, and practices. The council serves 712 members who manage 1,925 airports in 171 countries.
