Muscat International Airport welcomes the First Flight of Edelweiss Airline

Muscat International Airport welcomes the first flight of Swiss Edelweiss Airline on the direct route between Muscat International Airport and Zurich International Airport with two weekly flight Tuesday and Friday. The flight was greeted with conventional water spray salute amongst a welcome of senior employees from Oman Airports.

 As a part of Oman Airports’ series initiatives to promote the economy and tourism between Oman and world countries, Oman Airports expressed its pleasure as Edelweiss Airline launched its direct route to Muscat International Airport by operating direct flights. This route is of much advantage for inbound travelers either for business or tourism through several airline flights that operate their flights to Oman airports.

“Oman Airports” mentioned that since the opening of the new passenger terminal at Muscat International Airport, it has been seeking to attract regional and international airlines that is reflected on the growing demand by both passengers and airlines to Muscat station driven by Muscat Airport’s comprehensive services.

Swiss Edelweiss Airline has four Airbus A340-313 airplanes for long haul routes and ten Airbus A320 for short and medium haul routes. Whenever necessary, Edelweiss Airline’s fleet may upgrade its aircraft fleet with the Swiss crew.

Oman Airports stressed its implementation of highest Covid-19 precautionary measures and standards in place at Muscat International Airport that are in consistent with international best practices on health and safety procedures worldwide.
