Salalah Airport, one of the beautiful “Gateways to the Sultanate of Oman”, which is under the management of Oman Airports, has been awarded again for the fifth year in a row; to be categorized as a 5 Star airport by Skytrax in the category of World Airports for 2023.
The award came after the Salalah Airport’s continued provision of service excellence, and it highlights the airport’s accomplishment of the highest levels of airport and aviation efficiency.
During the awards ceremony, which was held at the Passenger Terminal Expo in Amsterdam, the award was handed to Mr. Salim Awadh Al Yafiei, Executive Vice President of Salalah Airport. These World Airport Awards are considered an elite accolade in the airports management sector. The selection of the awards is conducted by customers themselves, and represent the longest annual survey of customer satisfaction in airports.
Commenting on the award, Mr. Salim Awadh Al Yafiei explained that this is a glamourous and milestone accomplishment for Salalah Airport, especially keeping in mind that it comes in the “2 million travelers category” for international airports. Mr. Al Yafiei added that the importance of applying the highest international standards in terms of service – across all Oman’s airports – is the top priority for Oman Airports.
The Executive Vice President of Salalah Airport thanked all employees and strategic partners for their devoted work, and also thanked the travelers for selecting Salalah Airport as a premium “Gateway” to discover Oman’s beauty. This contribution asserts the unanimous role in building a strategic work system that functions like a real pioneering airport – which is equals, and exceeds other airports in the same category with regards to service quality and delivery.
Mr. Al Yafiei also pointed out that Oman Airports will remain devoted to its policy toward customer satisfaction, while providing the very best traveling experience through Salalah airports and other airports under Oman Airports’ supervision. He further explained: “The importance of this award is not only limited to the enhanced reputation of Oman as a country; it also reflects the devoted work of members of the Salalah Airport team, as well as our partners’ commitment to providing excellent service.”
