Transom Handling and Ministry of Labor launch "Maseer" training program associated with job seekers' employment

Oman Ground Handling “Transom Handling” – a subsidiary of Oman Airports – celebrated the launch of its Maseer training-for-employment (TFE) program, which is associated with the employment of young Omani job seekers in aviation and ground services, and which assists them to achieve their goals and build their future career.

The Maseer inauguration ceremony was held at the Training Centre of the Civil Aviation Authority under the auspices of His Excellency Sayyid Salem bin Musallam Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour for Human Resources Development.

Alongside the inauguration, His Excellency Al Busaidi affirmed the Ministry of Labour’s endeavours to implement national visions and projects that serve job seekers and overcome any obstacles hindering the realization of their career goals.

His Excellency Al Busaidi explained: "Through this partnership, we seek to strengthen the private sector institutions’ efforts, and support their endeavours and national contributions to offer greater opportunities for job seekers to improve their individual career standings. We also seek to support a trained and skilled generation of job seekers that can deservedly join the market. This comes in line with our efforts to achieve the vision laid out by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq – May Allah protect and preserve him.”

Sheikh Saud Al-Azizi, Transom Handling Executive Director, stated: “We are delighted to collaborate with the Ministry of Labour to introduce the Maseer program, which harmonizes with our company's vision to support and empower Omani youth to further achieve their goals and create a suitable work environment for their future careers. Our youth should be aware of the importance of education in terms of how it relates to their future professional success, as well as to the nation of Oman’s development plans. They should be ambitious, passionate to learn, and responsible with regards to continuing building their country, while deriving their determination and passion from the renewed renaissance.”

Sheikh Al-Azizi concluded by emphasizing that efforts are continued through many training and employment programs in all fields of the ground handling sector to enhance the government’s efforts in securing employment for job seekers.

The Maseer program, which will last for two years and target 100 job seekers in its current phase, is one of the most prominent elements of the company's strategy, as Omani manpower rehabilitation programs in private sector institutions are one of the strategic options that are highly relied upon in terms of linking service works to youth employment.
