The Sultanate of Oman was glad to be host the first meeting of the ACI’s (Airports Council International) new Board of Directors, on March 26th 2022.

ACI World:

Airports Council International (ACI), the trade association of the world’s airports, was founded in 1991 with the objective of fostering cooperation among its member airports and other partners in world aviation, including the International Civil Aviation Organization, the International Air Transport Association and the Civil Air Navigation Services Organization. In representing the best interests of airports during key phases of policy development, ACI makes a significant contribution toward ensuring a global air transport system that is safe, secure, customer-centric and environmentally sustainable. As of January 2022, ACI serves 717 members, operating 1950 airports in 185 countries.

ACI World’s World Governing Board (WGB):

The ACI World Governing Board ensures policy recommendations and activities represent the collective interests of ACI members. Comprised of 29 representatives from regional ACI boards, the ACI World Governing Board defines the direction of the organization’s work with the aim of fostering the capacity and growth of the global airport community.

The General Assembly of the (ACI), had chosen, during its 64th annual meeting, which was held in November 2021 in Cancun, Mexico , Sheikh Aimen bin Ahmed Al Hosni, the Chief Executive Officer of Oman Airports, as a Chairman of the Board of Directors of the (ACI) in its new term, which already began on January 1st, 2022 and will carry on until the end of 2023, to succeed the Argentinian Chairman, Martin Eurnekian, the Chief Executive Officer of Corporation America for Airports.

The meeting, was attended by members of the Board of Directors of the Airports Council International, which consists of Chief Executive Officers of major airports in the world, in the presence of the International General Director of the (ACI), Luis Felipe de Oliveira who conducted a number of executive meetings with the Board members, and a number of invited personalities from the aviation and airports sector regionally and internationally.

The Sultanate of Oman, during the period from 26th to 27th of March, will host the first meeting of the Board of Directors of the Airports Council International (ACI) in its new session, which started at the beginning of this year and will end at the end of (2023).

In preparation for the meeting of the Airports Council International, World Govering Board, the first meetings of the committees started yesterday, on Saturday in the Sultanate of Oman. The meetings will be held for two days, with the participation of 29 CEOs representing the ACI World Governing Board, in the presence of a number of invited personalities from the aviation sector.
