The new terminal building covers an area of over 580,000 square meters and has the capacity to handle over 20 million passengers per year.

Officially opening in November 2014, Sohar Airport is an international airport located in the Al Batinah North Governorate of Oman. It is situated east of the city of Sohar and is designed to handle up to 250,000 passengers annually and can accommodate up to 2 million passengers in the future.
Since 2008, and for the purpose of facilitating the travel of major oil and gas companies with operations based in the concession areas, multiple airstrips and helipads operated by Oman Airports has been established in Fahud, Marmul, and Qarn Al Alam.
